Pianosdirect sells new Pianos. The New Pianos we sell are called NORDISKA and are made in china at the factory in Northern China which as been manufacturing pianos since the 1950's. This brand has been sold mainly in the euoropen countries and is new to us here in NZ. You can now buy a new 111 inch tall upright piano for $3000 available in black mahogany and Walnut.
We also rely on a steady supply from Professional Export Associates overseas... bringing ONLY pianos given ALL A Grading Marks into its strictly regulated inventory.
This coupled with carefully selecting pianos offered from the local private market make our inventory the most comprehensive in New Zealand
We offer the very best of both worlds. Inexpensive New and top quality Second Hand !!!
There is a lot of confusion around about new pianos and where they are made and what quality they are.
There are increasing numbers of pianos being made in Asian countries, which is creating the confusion.
Even the big name manufacturers are putting there name on pianos made in these burgeoning countries.
Teachers players and people in the know seem to hold the view that these pianos are not up to the quality and standard of those made in the previously recognized piano producing countries.
We base our piano business and always have on quality instruments.
The New Zealand stock of pianos which are offered on the local private market are also getting old and tired so caution should be exercised here also.
There are however good pianos to be found on the local market. A 40 year old Knight for example could be as good as you will get from even the latest new varieties.
(The shame of it is that only recently the last real English piano manufacturer has had to close. No more new Knights, Woodchester, Bentley, Marshall and Rose, Welmar or Broadwood pianos. Sad)
If in doubt about the pedigree of a piano call us !!
